Algarve Golf Courses Map: 8 Must-Play Location

Among the concentration of golf courses in Algarve, there are some gem courses, which are must-play locations at least once in a lifetime. If you are in Algarve, you cannot afford to miss them. Make sure that you reserve your place for at least one golf course.

  1. Quinta do Lago south

    The place is a jewel in the crown of Quinta do Lago and has been a host to Portuguese Open as many as eight times. William Mitchell designed this course in 1974 and introduced greens, bunkers and tees of American standards. The course has earned a remarkable reputation in the last few decades and lives up to its reputation anytime you visit there. Spread across more than 6,500 meters, the course features umbrella pines, wild flowers, lakes and spectacular scenery.

  2. Quinta do Lago North

    This course is a latest addition to five star golf courses of Quinta do Lago. The course is completely overhauled and has been talk of the town ever since its inception. Beau Welling, an American architect redesigned the north course to lay emphasis on strategy and precision.

  3. Quinta do Lago Laranjal

    Laranjal course of Quinta do Lago has been the recipient of many travel awards. Located in Ludo valley, this course was previously and orange grove. The well-defined greens and spectacular fairways of this course make it a remarkable gem of golf courses.

  4. Oceanico (Victoria)

    Spread across more than 90 hectares, Oceanico Victoria is a beautiful course of Arnold Palmer. Being a sophisticated course, apt care has been taken to make sure that the wetlands are preserved. The traditional vegetation of olives, almonds and carobs make the course even more graceful.

  5. Vale do Lobo (Royal)

    Vale do Lobo features undulating fairways set among the concentration of pine trees. The beautiful lakes are enclosed by wild flowers. You will also find the unique island greens at 9th hole. The 16th hole is located on the cliff top.

  6. Penina (Championship)

    Sir Henry Cotton designed this championship course to stay in the memories of golfers forever. Previously a rice field, Penina Championship course was developed into a challenging course.

  7. Vale da Pinta

    This course has hosted European Seniors Tour Qualifying final no less than eight times. The challenging but greatly playable layout of the course makes it a respectable course among golfers. Ronald Fream designed Vale de Pinta to make it a beautiful challenge for golfers.

  8. Morgado golf course

    Morgado is a sister course of Alamos course. Spread across more than 900 hectares, the course features generous fairways and large greens.
